Natural Bucktail - Premium Grade

Premium Length Bucktail, like all our grades has been selected for length, all of the tails in this grade have exceptional quality hair for a range of purposes that may include large Deceivers, Flatwings, Bucktail Game Changers, Light Horsemen, large Bendbacks and all Bob Popovics inspired Fleye Design. If you want to ensure we have a certain type of hair ( hollows or Bulkhead being 2 different types of hair for example), please shoot us an email or message on social media before you purchase. The tails in this grade have been selected for hair length between 5”-6”at the longest usable section (typically 1/3 from base) but hair may vary at tips between hides. It is fair to say that in this grade some tails have slightly longer hair if the hide is shorter.
All tails are sourced and sold to Beast Brushes exclusively. The location of these Deer is from one of the most northern parts of the United States, this means that these tails exist in brutal cold conditions and the hair shows this. Hair that has endured these sorts of conditions is thicker and feels softer/ fluffier than tails sourced in a warmer climate. At first glance, our tails may not look that different from a tails sourced in a warmer climate or ones that are commercially mass treated, until you feel the hair while on the vice or see it in the water and how that extra insulation and small amount of lanolin we leave in moves throughout the water.
Graded and processed by professional fly tyer Chris Adams of Ammo flies, you can be guaranteed that your tails are graded and selected by someone who ties and fishes with these unique tails in the same places you do.
