Cortland Compact Sink Type 6

Cortland are definitely ahead of the game with the most versatile sinking lines on the market, the Compact Sink type 6 is no different. With a temperature versatile coating that can withstand anything you can throw at it in winter or summer, the Compact Sink features a 28ft fast sinking ( 6 inches per second) with an ultra slick intermediate running line that creates a fully density compensated sinking line.

What does this mean for your own fishing... It means covering ground fast, chucking a full line into in the wind of in slick calm with minimal false casts or effort, in fact the thing you will need to get used to the most is the reduced false casts for throwing a full line . This makes it ideal for fishing to a sounder for schooling fish like Bass or Snapper ( Summer to Winter with the one line) with a sink rate of 6 inches per second, counting your fly line down to where the fish are holding is easy. Snag bashing steep banks or jetties with fast moving water is also suited to this line, with a reduced line diameter and fast sink, it puts your fly right were that Cod, Jack or Barra lives.

We have included a diagram of the taper design and the grain weights so that you can make an informed decision. We fish these lines ourselves, so please feel free to shoot through any questions you might have and we will do our best to answer them or find someone who can.
